BuilderLog — Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of BuilderLog. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. We’ve kept them short and written them in plain English.

1. Who we are

BuilderLog is operated by NicheApps, a small company based in the North East of England. When these terms say “we”, “us” or “our”, it means NicheApps. When they say “you” or “your”, it means the person using BuilderLog.

2. What BuilderLog is

BuilderLog is a web-based tool for self employed builders to track jobs, log costs, record mileage, generate quotes, create invoices and produce tax report summaries. It runs in your web browser and does not require a download.

BuilderLog is a record-keeping tool, not an accounting service. The figures it produces are based entirely on the data you enter. We do not verify, audit or guarantee the accuracy of any calculations. Always check your figures with a qualified accountant before submitting a tax return.

3. Your account

To use BuilderLog, you need to create an account with a valid email address and a password. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure. You must be at least 18 years old. Each account is for one person.

4. Free and Pro plans

The free plan lets you track up to 10 jobs per month, with full access to cost tracking, mileage logging, quotes and the client database.

The Pro plan removes the job limit and adds CSCS invoices, self assessment tax reports and quote-to-job conversion. The current price is shown in the app at the time of purchase.

We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days’ notice to paying customers.

5. Payments and cancellation

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never see your card details.

You can cancel at any time. Pro features remain active until the end of the billing period. We do not offer partial refunds for unused portions of a billing period.

6. Your data

You own your data. We store it securely to provide the service. We do not sell, share or use your data for any purpose other than running BuilderLog for you. You can export or request deletion at any time.

7. Acceptable use

You agree to use BuilderLog for its intended purpose — tracking your work as a self employed tradesperson. You agree not to use it for illegal purposes, attempt to access other users’ data, reverse-engineer the app, or deliberately disrupt the service.

8. Availability

We aim to keep BuilderLog available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for any loss arising from temporary unavailability.

9. Invoices and tax reports

These are tools to help you manage your business, not professional accounting advice. You are responsible for verifying any figures before submitting a tax return.

10. Intellectual property

BuilderLog, its design, code, branding and content are owned by NicheApps. Your data remains yours.

11. Limitation of liability

BuilderLog is provided “as is”. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury or fraud.

12. Termination

You can stop using BuilderLog at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. If we discontinue BuilderLog, we will give at least 60 days’ notice and provide a data export option.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

14. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes affecting paying customers will have at least 30 days’ notice.
