Sound familiar?

These are the moments that cost you work.

Lost a contract because you couldn’t produce a method statement on the spot
Main contractor told you to come back when you’ve got your paperwork sorted
You know HSE could turn up at any site, any day — and you’d fail the inspection
You’re paying £300+ for generic H&S documents from a consultant when you could have trade-specific ones for a fraction of that

Questions

Do CDM Regulations apply to domestic work?
Yes. The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 apply to ALL construction work, including domestic projects. As a contractor, you must plan, manage, and monitor your work to ensure safety. Having documented risk assessments and method statements is a core part of this obligation.
What’s a RAMS and why do I need one?
RAMS stands for Risk Assessment and Method Statement. It’s a combined document that identifies the hazards of a specific task (risk assessment) and describes step-by-step how you’ll carry out the work safely (method statement). Main contractors require RAMS before they’ll let you on site. This pack gives you pre-written versions for common building tasks that you customise for each job.
Are these specific to building work?
Yes. The risk assessments cover falls from scaffolding, structural collapse, excavation safety, silica dust, cement burns, nail gun injuries — real building hazards. The method statements walk through extension builds and loft conversions step by step. These are not generic office H&S templates.
What about scaffolding inspections?
The pack includes a scaffolding inspection record with reason codes (PRE, ALT, WTH, 7D) as required by the Work at Height Regulations 2005. Scaffolding must be inspected before first use, after any alteration, after adverse weather, and at least every 7 days.
Will these help with CHAS, SafeContractor, or Constructionline?
Yes. These are the exact type of documents that accreditation schemes assess. The H&S policy, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and method statements form the core of any CHAS or SafeContractor application.
