Built for one person. You.

BuilderLog was built because we couldn’t find an app that did what a self employed builder actually needs — without the stuff they don’t.

Most job management tools on the market are designed for construction companies. Teams. Multiple vans. Site managers. Project boards. If you’re one person running your own jobs, you end up paying for features you’ll never open, inside software that was never designed for how you work.

We wanted something different. An app that lets you log a job in 10 seconds between tasks. Track your costs and mileage without thinking about it. Generate an invoice with your CSCS number on site. And at the end of the tax year, tap one button and get a clear summary of what you earned, what you spent, and what you owe.

That’s BuilderLog. Nothing more, nothing less.

Who we are

BuilderLog is part of the NicheApps family — a small, independent company based in the North East of England. We build simple, focused apps for people who work alone: builders, plumbers, electricians, joiners, personal trainers, podiatrists, landlords, foster carers and more.

Every app in the NicheApps range is built to do one thing well for one type of person. No bloat, no enterprise pricing, no features you didn’t ask for.

Why we built it this way

BuilderLog runs in your web browser. There’s nothing to download from an app store. You open it, sign up, and start logging jobs. It works on any phone, any tablet, any computer.

We chose this approach deliberately. A browser app is always the latest version the moment you open it. And it means we can support builders in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Ireland from the same codebase, with the right currency, mileage rate and tax terminology for each.

What’s next

We’re a small team and we ship improvements regularly. If something doesn’t work the way you expect, or you think something’s missing, get in touch at hello@builderlog.app.

BuilderLog — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

BuilderLog is operated by NicheApps. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. We’ve written it in plain English because nobody reads the other kind.

Who we are

BuilderLog is a product of NicheApps, a small company based in the North East of England. When this policy says “we”, “us” or “our”, it means NicheApps.

What data we collect

When you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted version of your password. We never see or store your actual password in plain text.

When you use the app, we store the data you enter: jobs, costs, quotes, client details, mileage entries, your business name, registration number, hourly rate and country preference. This is the data you see on screen — nothing hidden, nothing extra.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, browsing history or any data from your device beyond what you type into the app.

How we use your data

Your data is used to provide the BuilderLog service to you — showing your jobs, calculating your costs, generating your invoices and tax reports. That’s it.

We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for marketing purposes beyond sending you essential account-related emails.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored securely on servers provided by Supabase, a trusted cloud infrastructure provider. Supabase uses industry-standard encryption both in transit and at rest. Servers are located in the EU/UK region.

Payments

If you upgrade to BuilderLog Pro, your payment is processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never see or store your card number, expiry date or CVV. Stripe handles all payment data directly — it never passes through our servers.

Cookies

BuilderLog uses only essential cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies.

Your rights

You can view all of your data at any time simply by using the app. You can export a copy using the Export feature in Settings. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you also have the right to access, correct or restrict the processing of your personal data.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days. If your account is inactive for more than 24 months, we may contact you before deleting the account.

Third-party services

BuilderLog uses: Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Netlify (web hosting). We do not use any other third-party services that process your personal data.
